dc.description.abstract | <p>Of the cereals, the corn crop is the most important in Iowa. The acreage devoted to this crop in 1897, according to Mr Sage<sup>1</sup>, amounted to 8,043,390. The average yield was 39 bushels per acre; total product, 313,692,210 bushels, having a market value of $43,916,904. Oats rank second, the re having been 5,825,000 acres with a total yield of 73,450,000 bushels, having a market value of $8,814,000. Wheat ranks third, with a total acreage of 751,708, total yield 10,398,785 bushels, with a value of $6,027 853.</p> | |
