Farm Outlook

The nation's cattle population on Jan. 1, 1968 was estimated by the USDA's Statistical Reporting Service at 108.8 million head, up slightly from 108.6 million a year earlier. Dairy cattle continued their long downtrend, while the number of beef cattle showed a small increase.
