It was a tent of skins stitched together with sinew and waterproofed at the seams with buffalo tallow. A splinter of bone served as a needle. The woman's husband using a sharpened stone cut lodge poles- which he dragged to the home site. The Indian woman's tepee has been copied by the whites and there is no superior in Europe.
